Miami Art Week is easily one of, if not the most, anticipated celebrations in the city. Beginning with the first Art Basel in 2002, what was once a singular art fair on Miami Beach has expanded to a citywide string of exhibitions, events, and festivities that draw artists, celebrities, and visitors from around the world.
While there are hundreds of events and exhibitions happening throughout Miami, here are the week's five main art fairs, each of which showcases some of the world's finest contemporary and modern art.
Always the center of attention, South Beach plays host to the ultimate international art fair, Art Basel Miami Beach, at the recently reimagined Miami Beach Convention Center. Explore a wide range of pieces, from installations by promising up-and-comers to 20th-century masterworks.
Design Miami's 17th edition bears the theme "Human Kind," which spotlights design-led visions for a more equitable and interconnected future.
Don't miss longtime favorites Spectrum Miami and Red Dot Miami, two fairs under one roof at the MANA Wynwood Convention Center. French graffiti and tattoo artist FUZI will present "Defaced," an exhibition of new works on canvas and archives from his days painting trains in Paris.
The 2021 edition of PINTA MIAMI LIVE arrives in town with around 100 galleries from Latin America, the United States, and Europe—presenting artworks from over 300 artists. The digital platform allows access to free curatorial content that aims to continue stimulating interest in artistic production and expand its reach to new audiences.
